The Harmar AL580-HDX is a specific, externally mounted mobility lift for those who use mid-wheel power chairs with wheel sizes between 10″ to 14″.

Since mid-wheel power wheelchairs tend to weigh more, Harmar developed this lift to carry a much larger capacity, up to 450 lbs. Also why it’s only compatible with SUVs and pickup trucks

The Harmar AL580-HDX has a much narrower platform as to why it is only designed for the transport of mid-wheel power chairs.
